Wyoming Public Records
Wyoming State maintains several government run websites that are designed to provide certain information to the public. If you need to obtain a specific record or document, one of these sites should be where you can obtain what you need. While many types of records are centralized, it can take a bit of searching to find others.
Birth, Death, Marriage and Divorce Records
Wyoming's Department of Health provides access to Birth, Death, Marriage and Divorce Records. You will need to print the appropriate form, complete it and mail it along with the required fee to:
Vital Statistics Services
Hathaway Building
Cheyenne, WY 82002
(307) 777-7591
These records are sent in the mail which can take up to four weeks, but if you prefer to have them sent via Fedex or UPS, please let WDOH know this and the document will be sent to you via collect courier. Marriage records are also available through the county that issues the original marriage license.
Driving Record Information
You can obtain a copy of your own driving record from Wyoming's Transportation department. You have the choice of accessing a local branch of the DOT in person or by ordering your record through the mail. On the site you can find the appropriate request form and the fee information.
Property Tax and Land Records
If you are looking for Wyoming property records, you will need to know the county that the property is located in. Here is a list of the county websites. Each county maintains its own property records separate from other counties. If you want extremely detailed information, you may want to attend the registration office for the property to view all of the records on file.
Court Cases and Information
The Wyoming Judicial Branch offers the public access to search a wide variety of court cases. You will need to know the level of court as well as the court file number or a name of one of the parties involved in order to do an effective search. If you cannot locate a particular court record, it is safe to say that it might not be available for public access.
Criminal Record Checks
The Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigation is the agency you must contact if you are looking for a Criminal Record Check. Read the FAQs listed on the page to understand the process and how to obtain your record in a timely fashion.
Sex Offenders
Wyoming State also maintains a Sex Offender Registry website. You must make the standard disclaimer acknowledgement in order to enter the site. From there you can search the registry in a variety of ways – the name, address, county or last known address of the offender could all be ways of locating the offender. You can also contact the registry to advise if you know of an offender who is not registered on the site.
